Step into the role of Junior Designer - Menswear Discover an exciting opportunity to take on an integral role here at Joules Head Office. Your role of Junior Designer sits within our friendly and creative Menswear department. Your Role: To support and assist the Designer in developing, progressing & managing a profitable department across stores and online. Proactively drive obtaining research and inspiration through analysis of competitor shops, fashion blogs and trend resources. Prepare for Design meetings, taking responsibility for racking up products and preparing mood and research boards. Considering the agenda, bring suggestions and share opinions at weekly Design meetings. Contribute to the decision-making, supporting your ideas with inspirational images and/or samples. You can expect to regularly work cross-collaboratively and alongside our Founder, Tom Joule. Ensure you are familiar with current and future product ranges and current department trading. Prepare for and present seasonal Touch Point, CAD & Pre Selection presentations for specific product areas to senior management. Liaise with suppliers on any changes that need to be made to samples ready for management presentation. Build relationships with key suppliers, by identifying and driving innovative sourcing and ideas. Attend fit sessions ensuring artwork, garment fit and embellishment are correct. Flag potential issues to the Buying team and Designer that may affect the Critical Path. Attend development trips when required. Eye for colour. Experience working within design for either a supplier or retailer - experience within menswear is desirable. Experience creating design packs/BOMs. Strong technical garment & fabric knowledge. Illustrator proficient. Demonstrates an awareness of trends and impact of potential threats and opportunities. Proactive, vibrant and spirited and rises to challenges. Ability to manage time and work to deadlines. Strong communication skills (communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing) Affinity and a passion for the Joules brand. Where will you be working? This is a full time, onsite role based at ‘The Barn’ - this is Joules’ purpose built Head Office in Market Harborough, Leicestershire. This role is office based and typically requires 5 days a week working onsite, as we believe this is where we make the best decisions together.
