Brownlee Cale are recruiting for a Quality Engineer with a background as a Works Manager/ Construction Manager for a Tier 1 Civils Contractor in Reading.
Brief description of Scope of Work: Quality control assistance with documentation reviews and approvals.
Typical Tasks:
1. Document reviews including ITPs, QPs, Procedures, Test documents, Reports, Material certification, Calibration documentation, Schedules LTRs etc.
2. Act as the focal point between suppliers and the AWE project teams in terms of controlling document reviews.
3. Witness Inspections
4. Witness Testing
5. Sign off completed ITP activity documentation on behalf of AWE.
6. Maintain oversight of Lifetime Quality Records that are generated by Suppliers.
Task Deliverables:
Programme:
1. Maintain daily diaries including actual hours worked for all internal packages and provide information to the Principal Contractor.
2. Provide weekly report incorporating planned vs actual progress including narrative for any delays caused per package.
Quality:
1. Carry out daily quality inspections/Audits for all packages.
2. Raise Observations and Defects and manage the Close out process working closely with the Contractor.
3. Liaise with the Configuration team to ensure all Documents drawings and Certifications etc. are in meridian and document register is updated.
4. Ensure all documents are completed and signed off by relevant parties and completed at the point of action.
5. Support the Contractor in raising and closing out NCR's.
6. Collate documents for LTQR's.
7. Liaise with the AWE Handover manager to understand requirements and provide information as necessary.
8. Review Contractor's ITPs and support in developing/ amending them, if necessary. Manage close out process.
Safety:
1. Support the Principal Contractor with managing the internal packages to ensure adherence to the site's Work Control Processes.
2. Provide support to Principal Contractor and Contractors to close out health & safety actions.
Essential Skills & Experience:
1. Have a suitable amount of experience in operating in the construction/build environment, with a proven track record in successfully planning, managing, and monitoring construction work.
2. Hold an industry standard, construction/build environment qualification aligned to their discipline/specialism. Familiar with ISO 9000. CQI Quality related Modules.
3. Desirable Training certification considered appropriate.
4. Hold an appropriate industry recognised safety scheme card, (i.e., a Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) Managers card, Client Contractor National Safety Group (CCNSG) Safety Passport card or a suitable equivalent (as determined by the AWE Construction Manager).
5. Hold a Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS)/ Site Supervisors Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) or National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH) Construction accreditation, or a suitable equivalent (as determined by the AWE Construction Manager).
6. Proven experience working as Site/ Construction Manager or Supervisor managing construction works and sign off of Quality documentation.
7. Preferred Civil Background.
8. Will need to Familiarise with Client Construction Operating Procedures after starting.
9. Knowledgeable in using Microsoft applications and able to prepare/ amend forms if required.
10. Working Knowledge of BIM 360/Trimble 4 Projects document management systems.
11. Must have SC or have the ability to get SC.
