About the business unit:
The Energy unit delivers services to clients globally across several sectors including hydropower, nuclear, waste, renewable generation and transmission & distribution networks. Together we provide integrated engineering and project management services across the project lifecycle – from concept and design to construction and operations, to decommissioning or repowering and life extension. About this role:
Due to new project wins and continued growth, we are recruiting Senior Piping Engineers to join our Power, Process & Nuclear division. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on innovative projects across the defence and nuclear new-build industries. As part of our growing team, you will contribute to high-profile engineering challenges while developing your career within an organisation committed to supporting your professional growth.
Responsibilities:
* Act as a design co-ordinator, managing multi-disciplinary engineering teams and collaborating with Project Managers and discipline Team Leaders.
* Prepare detailed design reports, specifications, and component datasheets.
* Perform engineering calculations and review/approve engineering reports, calculations, and drawings.
* Provide guidance to mechanical designers on plant layout and component specifications.
* Liaise with other engineering disciplines, clients, and contractors to ensure smooth project execution.
* Lead and participate in design co-ordination meetings, both internally and externally.
* Provide procurement and construction support for ongoing projects.
* Maintain accurate project documentation and ensure version control.
* Offer professional advice on mechanical engineering matters to both internal and external clients.
* Continuously develop professional knowledge and skills to stay ahead in the field.
* Ensure compliance with corporate health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
* Travel may be required within the UK or abroad for site visits and meetings.
Candidate Specification:
* Chartered status with the IMechE or other relevant professional body (or equivalent experience with progress toward chartered status).
* Proven experience in delivering engineering design and consultancy services.
* Background in highly regulated industries (preferably Nuclear, but Oil & Gas, Pharmaceutical, or Rail experience will be considered).
* Strong knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and legislation, with experience delivering work packages to clients.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
* Proficiency in MS Office suite.
* Self-motivated, able to work on own initiative, and manage time effectively.
This role provides the opportunity to advance your technical and professional skills while contributing to some of the most complex and exciting projects in the industry.
