We have an opening for a Tech Writer to provide Technical Publications support via tasks listed below:
This will include:
* Provide support and specialist advice to the ILS programme leads on technical publications requirements.
* Generate Aircrew Publications.
* Produce technical publications to a variety of industry-standard specifications to a high standard and within set timescales. This includes both Military and Commercial standards.
* Validate publications ensuring a high standard of technical publication production.
* Support continuous improvement of the processes for technical publications, and where possible improve the performance measurements.
* Support the development of project-specific Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs).
* Provide timely notification to the Technical Publications Lead of any potential problems, and proposed solutions.
* Develop and support databases to support:
o Internal LM MF765 process
o Technical Publications Graphics Library
o Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) Technical Manuals.
* Carry out Problem Tracking Reports (PTR) assessments including the raising of associated MF765s to close-out the tasks.
* Manage the status and configuration issues for the technical publications and status Tech Pubs updates, amendments, and Corrections (F765’s).
* Support the management of the CIETP updates, amendments, and Corrections (F765’s) for LM programmes.
* Provide support to the coordination of deliveries and updates to technical publications.
* Provide ILS interface to LM at Merlin Training Facility (MTF) at RNAS Culdrose.
* Maintain the Merlin Logistics Support Analysis Records (LSAR) for LM workshare.
* Preparation of Special Category Work (SCW) claims.
* Support the EPRMs and provide support to review meetings.
* Comply with legislative requirements and Company and department procedures.
Required skills, qualifications and experience:
* Extensive experience, including 5 in aerospace (military/commercial).
* Proficient knowledge and experience using Framemaker software.
* Detailed experience of authoring Component Maintenance Manual (CMM) content (specifically Air Publications or Books of Reference (BRs)).
* Knowledge and experience of producing Data Module content for Interactive Electronic Technical Publications (IETP).
* Understanding of Def Stan 0060/00600 and Defence Logistics Framework (DLF) requirements.
* Knowledge and experience of ILS disciplines and the associated interactions.
