Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Community Stroke Services for a Specialist Physiotherapist to join our team to cover maternity leave until 7th July 2025, part time 22.5 hours per week.
The Community Stroke service provides Early Supported Discharge as well as support for people who have a new therapeutic need some time after their stroke. This is in line with the Integrated Community Stroke Service (ICSS) model providing a needs-based service.
You will join our multidisciplinary team which consists of Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists and Occupational Therapists as well as an experienced team of Associate and Assistant practitioners.
The Community Rehabilitation service is in demand and continues giving a high level of service to the patients within North East Essex. We have a high degree of diversity and specialism within our team. We offer a well-established supervision and appraisal structure and we have a firm commitment to CPD and evidence based practice.
This is a Fixed Term post until 7th July 2025
Internal applicants currently employed by ESNEFT will be offered on a secondment basis only. This will need to be discussed with your line manager.
Main duties of the job
The key objectives for this post are to provide high quality, safe, evidence based and goal-focused rehabilitation, supporting stroke survivors to become experts in their own care and remain in their own homes; and to provide holistic assessment specialist physiotherapy intervention.
Clear clinical reasoning; good assessment and intervention skills; and experience in neuro/stroke care are essential. You will be encouraged and supported to develop your clinical skills and be actively involved in service development.

* Professional knowledge and skills acquired through a combination of formal training, short courses and experience to degree level or equivalent.

* Evidence of on-going CPD

* Registered member of Chartered Society of physiotherapy
* Recognised registered qualification and further courses and experience relevant to role
Knowledge

* Good theoretical and practical knowledge of a broad range of assessments including specialist relevant to the specialist care group and the relative benefits of each.
