The practice is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join its growing team. The successful candidate will work alongside a fantastic and inclusive team of six RVNs, supported by ANAs, VCAs, and a dedicated front-of-house team. The practice is RCVS Accredited, Fear-Free, and an ISFM Silver Cat-Friendly Clinic, ensuring the highest standards of patient and client care.
Nurses play a key role within the practice, running regular clinics in nutrition, senior pet care, behaviour, and puppy classes. Professional development is actively encouraged, with full support provided for any area of interest that aligns with the practice’s growth.
The practice values work-life balance and has outsourced out-of-hours work to Emergency Veterinary Services. Inpatients are cared for on a shared on-call rota, with backup support available until team members feel fully comfortable. As there are no out-of-hours phone duties, on-call responsibilities are strictly for inpatients, allowing staff to relax at home when not required at the practice. A retainer is provided for being on call, along with a paid call-out fee and an hourly rate for any attendance at the practice.
RVNs at the practice work a four-day week with a fixed day off each week. The weekend rota operates on a 1:5 basis, with varying Friday shift patterns and occasional inpatient on-call duties.
The team is sociable and enjoys gathering outside of work, whether for the Christmas party, summer BBQ, or dog walks. The local area offers a mix of bright lights in Blackpool, sandy beaches, and stunning countryside, with easy access to Liverpool, Manchester, and international airports for further travel.
