Position: SEN Learning Support Assistant
Location: Christchurch, Dorset
Salary: £13.75 per hour

We’re looking for a compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a Primary school in Christchurch. Our school supports children aged 4-11 with severe learning difficulties and disabilities, including autism, Down syndrome, and some physical disabilities. Your role will involve supporting students with their learning, helping during playtimes, sensory room activities, hydrotherapy sessions, and assisting with daily routines like lunchtime and transitions.
We’re particularly interested in candidates with experience in SEN schools.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support students across primary and secondary sites (placement preferences considered).
* Assist with a variety of activities, ensuring students are engaged and included.
* Work with teachers and therapists to create and implement personalized learning plans.
* Help manage students' care and emotional needs throughout the day.
* Support students during daily routines like arrival, lunch, and departure.
The Ideal Candidate:
* Experience with children or young people with SEN is a big plus.
* Compassionate, patient, and proactive.
* Willing to work across both primary and secondary sites.
* Comfortable supporting students in sensory activities and hydrotherapy.
* Great teamwork and communication skills.
* A current enhanced DBS check, or willing to get one.
