The Trust aims to provide every child with an outstanding education through a creative, innovative, engaging curriculum which is underpinned by the Christian values of kindness, respect, forgiveness, perseverance, and love.
The role of Governance Officer has an important role to play in ensuring our Trust family positively impacts the life chances of our children.
What we are looking for
The Bath & Wells Diocesan Academies Trust is looking for an experienced Governance Officer to join our growing governance team. Governance Officers play a key role in supporting the effective governance of a school, or a number of schools, within the Trust. They are trusted and active Governance Professionals, advising Trust Local Committees (TLCs) on their core functions and ensuring compliance with national guidance, the Trust’s Scheme of Delegation, Terms of Reference, and Trust policies & procedures.
Responsibilities include:
1. Organising meetings and collating papers
2. Creating professional minutes
3. Dealing with highly confidential and sensitive items with discretion
4. Maintaining records
5. Governor recruitment and induction
6. Attendance at team meetings and Governance Professional briefings
The majority of duties can be undertaken flexibly from home, with planned meeting dates set each summer for the year ahead, usually held at school. Most governor meetings and training events are in the afternoon and evenings, requiring travel to schools for meetings, although a hybrid approach is offered where appropriate.
We currently have vacancies in the following areas/schools:
* Bathampton Primary School, Bath
* Swainswick Primary School, Bath
* St Saviours Infant and Junior Church Schools, Bath (1 TLC supports both schools)
What we offer
