Description Systems Engineer Work within the Environment team to ensure the delivery of environments for testing purposes to support the DSESAR programme plan for NATS are fit for purpose. Main Roles and Responsibilities Supporting the co-ordination of Environment activities, scheduling and booking process for all environments supporting the DSESAR programme. Aim to schedule, support and de-conflict activities for IPO provisioning, Supplier installs, Service group activities, Maintenance and Test activities. Support daily environment schedule meetings for all users to deconflict activities based on technical limitations and programme priorities. Attendance of the following (appropriate) meetings as requested within the environment team to ensure the environment schedule is current and up to date. Daily Change Stand Up meetings - to be aware of current Network activities taking place on environments which could potentially impact the activities schedule. Automation Performance - Support the automation team with the running of automated Build Verification Tests IPO Install meeting - to be aware of the current wave plan, environment scheduling for installs, and changes to env desk layouts which will impact bookings and scheduling. IPO Progress meeting - Covers impacts to changes to SG bookings on the environments. Primary Core Infrastructure Meetings - Technical impact to environment usage. Integration Review Meetings - Impacts environment bookings for integration activities, which need to be co-ordinated with build and adaptation installs. Check/support data requirements - work with data team to ensure when creating data, any exporter used is compatible with the latest build/s. Schedule and Execute Build Verification Tests (BVT) Manual and Automated to test and verify all elements of the latest build including coverage of any new integration elements which will have already been tested during integration phases to ensure there are no issues prior to accepting the build and handing over to the test team for testing activities. This includes version compatibility checking and verifying against the appropriate specification. Support Validation and Shadowing sessions with Air Traffic Control (ATC) and trouble shoot issues during the sessions. Produce QLTR's for BVTs. Attend TRR's prior to test phases. Create Information CHG's to advise TAB and CAB of environment activities such as Shadowing and Validation so they de-conflict and ensure there are no CHG's on these dates which may impact the activities. (Especially where ATC resource is required) Professional Requirements/Previous Experience Experience of working on previous projects either as Environment Manger/ Lead or managing environments as part of a Test Lead/Manager role A though knowledge of Networking to be able to understand how Network changes could impact planned environment activities. Knowledge and understanding of version and configuration control. Knowledge of remote access via SRAM iTEC/NAS knowledge Understanding of ATC tactical / surveillance systems. Service Now experience or foundation in ITIL. Knowledge of Linux Knowledge of vSphere Competences Strong organisational skills, an ability to understand the installation, development, and test process/life cycle and how environment management relates to and impacts the overall process and success of the programme. Communication skills to enable communication across the whole programme spectrum.
