To provide an effective engineering service to the production team and respond to demands in a timely fashion. To maintain equipment both proactively and reactively to ensure factory performance meets targets and KPIs. To improve equipment availability and performance to meet OEE targets through identifying and implementing improvements. To proactively use the PPM System in place (SAP) for the capture of all engineering labour and parts. Duties and Responsibilities: Carry out speedy responses to all plant stoppages in a safe manner. To provide effective breakdown cover to the production department. To maintain and adjust the equipment and to carry out repairs and servicing to ensure optimum performance. To carry out planned maintenance within the individual's competence To fault find and repair machines To ensure that all equipment operates efficiently producing product according to the specification. Working with single and three phase electrical systems. To work closely with the Engineering leadership team to ensure that any faults beyond the competence of the Engineer are reported and rectified promptly via third party if required. To ensure that Health and Safety rules (including COSHH) are complied with and that staff are fully aware of their Health & Safety responsibilities with respect to operating machinery. To help in the training and assessment of staff regarding machine operation. To work closely with visiting engineers to ensure that any agreed improvements or modifications, deliver the desired benefits to the business. Responsible for ensuring that all equipment documentation is fully and accurately completed and appropriately filed or passed on to the correct department. To report any non-conformances in machine performance to the Engineering Chargehand/Team Lead. To work closely with the Maintenance Manager and Team Leader to ensure that production targets for productivity are met. To carry out any other duties commensurate with their training and experience as requested by the Engineering Chargehand/Team Lead. Qualifications to be recognised in the UK. Literacy/Numeracy to National Level 2 Standard. Delivers quality and accuracy in own work and standards. Able to cope under pressure and flex with peaks in personal workload. Able to anticipate/identify problems and use available resources to provide effective solutions. Able to act on decisions with the corresponding level of urgency. Personal/Interpersonal Skills. Good standard of written and spoken English. Experience in a food processing industry is desirable. Experience of poultry processing machinery is desirable. Knowledge of lean techniques and processes. Automated machinery experience is desirable. Computer literacy. 17th / 18th (or equivalent) Edition Qualified. Industrial experience is desirable. Knowledge of PLC systems, fault finding. SCADA System knowledge
