Overall Purpose Of The Role
We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Project Manager to step into a fast paced contract position. You will focus on exciting projects, such as revamping the Digital customer Experience of Barclays customers, integration of Tesco Bank into Barclays, and development of our customer user technology.
You will be a key member of the wider team, supporting and driving all angles of delivery, from software to business, and right through to the end product. This senior role demands proven success in managing complex projects within large organisations positioned within the banking/financial services sector. You will be responsible for managing large teams, complex dependencies, and high-stakes deliverables.
Key Accountabilities
* Analysing requirements and their impact on the user experience (UX), functionality, and non-functional aspects.
* Creating project plans and managing dependencies, risks, and issues.
* Tracking project KPIs and driving improvements in team velocity.
* Establishing and managing governance and working groups to ensure on-time delivery.
* Understanding how business requirements affect people, processes, and benefits realization.
* Working with delivery teams to improve their velocity and efficiency.
* Lead end-to-end project planning and execution.
* Develop and maintain detailed project plans, from delivery timelines, budget, and resource allocation.
* Manage cross-functional teams and business areas to ensure collaboration, objective alignment and clear communication channels.
* Proactively identify and mitigate project risks, escalating issues appropriately and shaping solutions.
* Monitor and report on project progress against milestones and KPIs, taking corrective action when necessary to ensure on-time delivery.
* Implement and maintain project ceremonies, documentation, ensuring all deliverables are properly tracked and archived.
Key Skills And Experience
* Previous experience within a technical project management role working on feature delivery (essential).
* Established experience as a Project Manager in the banking/financial services environment.
* Experienced in Scrum, with experience of other project frameworks such as Kanban (essential).
* Experience of working with Jira (essential).
* Experienced in PI planning (Preferable).
* Experience working within Payments & Transactions (Preferable).
* Proven ability to deliver new initiatives or significant changes within complex organizations.
* Experienced and capable of working in an Agile way.
* A strong understanding of transactional processes is required.
* Has worked within a digital business area.
* Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and deliver on time and within budget.
* Strong stakeholder management experience; experienced managing dependencies and stakeholders in complex projects.
* Excellent communication skills at all levels, including with exec level stakeholders.
* Proficiency with project management tools (Jira and excel are must have please).
* Track record of proactive project risk management and issue resolution.
* Demonstrable experience in software delivery and able to articulate how you've delivered a working piece of software to end-users would be ideal.
* Integration experience is desirable.
* Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
* Strong discipline in following and enforcing agile and project management methodologies.
* Results-oriented approach with a focus on meeting deadlines.
