Planet Ice is looking for a motivated and experienced leisure manager to operate a well-established ice rink in Coventry. The site aims to provide the best ice skating and ice leisure experience through a team that is passionate and committed to delivering a high-quality and entertaining visit for all our customers.
To be responsible for the smooth and efficient day-to-day management of the unit, ensuring the company’s Brand Standards and Values are maintained at all times and ensuring all legal requirements are complied with in accordance with all Legislation and Company policies.
Reporting initially to the Deputy Chief Operations Manager, in collaboration with the Senior Leadership team headed by a Chief Operations Officer, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operation of the ice rink and management staff. The successful applicant will be an enthusiastic, self-motivated proactive individual who has a minimum of three years of management experience within a fast-paced leisure environment; knowledge of the ice industry is preferred but not essential.
You will be responsible for identifying required staffing levels, recruitment of quality staff, induction, and ensuring that appropriate training is delivered to all management and staff within the Unit. You will be required to maintain a highly motivated team for day-to-day public skating, ice hockey events, and a bar and cafe provision.
You will exceed customer expectations by developing, implementing, and maintaining the most efficient standards of customer service possible in all aspects of the operations to deliver optimum Brand Standards and Values.
Job Requirements
1. The successful applicant will have strong leadership skills, a professional outlook, be smart in appearance, and well organized.
2. Experience of managing volume; the drive to get their sleeves rolled up and have a hands-on presence whilst maintaining a commercial and strategic focus.
3. Experience managing and driving sales and performance.
4. A natural ability to build rapport with customers.
5. Experience in a leisure environment.
6. High level of customer service skills and the ability to work within a team.
7. First Aid at work qualification is desirable.
8. Food & Beverage Experience is an advantage.
9. Computer literate and the ability to demonstrate a full working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
10. Full Driving Licence.
11. This post requires the successful candidate to produce an Enhanced Criminal Record Bureau Check.
12. The candidate must be prepared to work flexible shift patterns e.g. morning shifts, evening shifts, and alternating weekends.
