Job Description JOB TITLE: 128385 Group Finance Support – Head of Accounting Operations Control & Reporting SALARY: £114,810 - £135,070 LOCATION(S): Bristol HOURS: Full time WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid, 40% (or two days) in the Bristol office About this opportunity This exciting role offers the opportunity to lead, build and motivate a team of circa 90 finance professionals, in the Accounting Operations Control & Reporting Team, partnering with wider business and other parts of Finance to deliver a robust control environment. In this role you’ll be responsible for driving an environment of curiosity, continuous improvement and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within Accounting Operations. In this role you’ll join us Group Finance Support (part of Group Finance Support & Finance Data & Analytics Office), a key function within the Finance community of LBG. The team is at the start of a significant Transformation journey, and you will be part of influencing, designing and implementing Finance Transformation over the next 5 years, both within Group Finance Support and beyond Day to day you’ll be; Overseeing and leading the day-to-day operations to ensuring accuracy, timeliness and compliance with internal SLAs and regulatory requirements, Leading the team to build and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure the integrity of operations and compliance with relevant accounting, regulatory and internal requirements. Responsible for ensuring robust risk management processes, including SOX and RCSA, are embedded within the team, and provide a ‘no-surprises’, high quality Financial Control environment. This includes appropriate monitoring of compliance. Building out a reporting framework to enhance oversight and issue identification. Coordinating the daily, monthly and annual processes and associated reconciliations and analysis and ensure balances are substantiated to appropriate standards Ensure compliance with the relevant consumer codes of practice such as PPP, continually driving better results. What you’ll need A qualified accountant with significant PQE preferably in the financial services industry Experienced leader with drive, energy and a growth mindset, who leads by example and has led a large team Proficient in P2P, AR, reconciliation and controls processes and tools; combined with team leadership experience in this area Ability to attract, inspire and lead a successful, diverse professional team actively managing performance to realise potential and retain talent. Strategic thinker, with a passion for creating and driving future transformation and continuous improvement within Finance teams Strong Risk and Control understanding, including LBG RSCA and SOX framework; with an awareness of the key risks facing LBG Finance Prior experience of leading through system, process or cultural change Excellent communicator, able to influence and articulate complex issues at all levels across LBG, building strong diverse working relationships across different parts of the Group.
