The post holder will be a key member of the multi-disciplinary clinical research team, supporting the daily management of research studies under supervision of the Research Midwives/Nurses. The postholder will work across specialities, with the primary speciality being Obstetrics and Gynaecology. The post holder will also be expected to develop knowledge and skills and to provide ongoing support to the patients whilst in clinical trials. The post holder will be required to develop skills such as consenting of patients to appropriately delegated research studies. You will be required to provide routine information to patients along with non-routine information about studies and effectively communicate where research lies within the individual patients' clinical care pathway. Part of the role will include data collection including data input into electronic databases and other administrative duties. The postholder will ensure that any research undertaken is conducted to ICH Good Clinical Practice (GCP) Standards. You will identify barriers to recruitment and work effectively with other staff groups to overcome these barriers. This is a diverse and demanding role which requires an enthusiastic and flexible individual. The post requires the ability to travel independently; therefore access to a car and full driving licence is essential. The role is part of a large and growing research team with potential to develop further in the future.
