TEACHING ASSISTANT Location - Egham 12 month contract, with view to becoming permanent Primary school - outstanding school based in Egham. Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support our educational team in providing a nurturing and effective learning environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education and experience working with children, particularly those with autism and special educational needs. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in mentoring and educating students, helping them to achieve their academic goals while fostering their social and emotional development. Responsibilities Assist the lead teacher in delivering engaging lessons and activities tailored to the needs of students. Provide one-on-one tutoring and support to students, ensuring they understand the material being taught. Foster a positive learning environment by encouraging student participation and promoting good behaviour. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to discuss progress and any concerns. Assist in the preparation of classroom materials and resources. Support the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students requiring additional assistance. Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills related to special education. Experience Previous experience working with children Proven ability to communicate effectively with children and adults alike. Experience in tutoring or mentoring roles is advantageous. A background in special education or relevant qualifications would be beneficial but not essential. Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and empathy are crucial for this role.
