Job Description:
We are looking for a hard-working candidate to join our Prevent Team to support our local Prevent programme of work. This is an exciting opportunity to get involved in supporting local communities combat terrorism and radicalisation, with ample opportunity to be out and about in Enfield meeting the diverse local community.
The Prevent programme is part of the Government’s counter terrorism strategy CONTEST. The aim of Prevent is to stop people becoming terrorists or supporting terrorism, by challenging terrorist ideology, supporting vulnerable people, and working in partnership with sectors and institutions where there are risks of radicalisation.
Good partnership work with local communities plays a major part in the successful delivery of Prevent objectives within Enfield. This exciting role of the Prevent Officer will identify, build and maintain a network of community contacts to improve coordination of Prevent delivery. The post holder will also need to provide efficient project administration support, arranging meetings, taking minutes and providing support to other members in the team as required.
This is a unique & exciting opportunity that will suit a candidate who:
1. Enjoys working with local communities and has good communication skills.
2. Is willing to learn more about counter terrorism and keeping the community safe.
3. Has experience of working in a team and providing administrative support.
4. Has confidence and ability to adapt to needs.
5. Is politically aware and interested in local and national policy.
6. Has or is willing to undertake a CTC/SC Security clearance.

The post is initially offered on a contract until the end of March 2026, and further depending on renewed funding being available. Due to the nature of the work, the successful applicant will be required to work flexibly, including attending events outside of normal working hours when necessary.
