Job Introduction
As a Food Service Assistant at HMRC Nottingham NG2 2GD, you're a real people person with excellent communication skills. Mainly customer-facing, you'll interact with our clients and colleagues every day, improving the quality of life for all that you meet.
What you’ll do:
* Manage the coffee shop and provide support in the preparation, cooking, and serving of food and beverages.
* This is a dual role that requires you to also work in our Hospitality department.
* Lead shifts when assigned by the line manager, taking responsibility for delivering brand standards, including cash management.
* Open the unit, prepare for the shift, close the unit, manage orders, monitor and deliver high standards of customer service, and accept deliveries.
* Perform the role of float where required.
* Train all new team members to Barista level using appropriate training material.
* Check the quality of espresso by accurately measuring & recording the grind & dose.
* Ensure all drinks are made and served to brand standard.
* Support the team throughout the shift to ensure delivery of service to brand standard.
* Identify any gaps in training and undertake any training as required.
* Ensure all coffee equipment is in good working order and report any faults as required.
What you bring:
* Positive attitude, professionalism, and respect for others.
* Basic food-handling skills.
* No previous experience required.
* Fully trained to Barista standard with a full understanding of brand standards.
* Literate & numerate.
* Ability to communicate effectively with customers, clients, and staff.
* Passionate, friendly, and diligent.
* Ability to work with a team and on your own initiative.
* Flexible approach to the role.
