Health and Safety Manager
Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 doe
Orion is partnered with a well-established agricultural manufacturing company which is recruiting for a highly experienced Health and Safety Manager.
Responsibilities:
* Strategic Development: Shape and steer the H&S strategy across multiple sites, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
* Operational Execution: Directly manage day-to-day safety operations, ensuring compliance with all H&S legislation, enhancing our safety systems, and leading our safety team.
* Change Management: Implement behavioral change and safety improvement projects.
Duties:
* Ensure the highest levels of regulatory compliance for Health, Safety, and Environmental standards at the sites.
* Write policies and procedures.
* Manage 3 sites (Enstone, Cullompton, and Sherburn).
* Implement changes to improve safety and reduce risk.
* Lead the adoption of best practices in health and safety standards and initiatives.
* Develop, record, and report on H&S KPIs, providing insights and action plans.
* Manage the Health & Safety team on a daily basis.
* Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance.
* Maintain and enhance H&S management systems to meet ISO9001, 14001, and OHSAS18001 standards.
* Investigate accidents and lead post-incident analysis and improvements.
* Coordinate responses to non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
* Deliver comprehensive health and safety training across all levels of staff.
* Liaise with regulatory bodies, ensuring constructive relationships and compliance.
Experience:
* Must be a driver and a UK license holder as there will be a lot of driving between the sites.
* Manufacturing or heavy industry experience.
* Knowledge of COSHH.
* Experience working to ISO9001, 14001, and OHSAS18001.
* NEBOSH Qualification to HnD Level.
* Experience in a heavy industrial plant environment.
* Strong influencing skills with stakeholders and the ability to communicate strategic plans and projects.
* Knowledge of RIDDOR Reports.
* Good understanding of Health, Safety, and Environmental good practices and control expectations.
* Flexible and able to manage priorities, resolve problems, and escalate issues in a fast-paced environment.
* Experience in the Food or Agricultural industry.
* Good understanding of improvement processes, tools, and capability-building.
