This is a regional role looking after 6 depots: 4 in Scotland, one in Leeds, and one in Manchester.

Your Role:
As an HSQE Advisor, you'll be based in Northern England or Central Scotland. You'll support the management team and the wider HSQE team both locally and nationally, ensuring that health, safety, quality, and environmental standards are met and exceeded. You will ideally be located in the Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle Region and able to travel within Northern England and Scotland, with occasional visits to Belfast.
You will report to the Group Head of H&S and will be trusted to get on with the job. You will have autonomy to organise your own diary and will be required to visit all depots in the region 1 or 2 times per month, so travel is essential. You will be supporting the Project Delivery Teams during their briefings from a H&S standpoint and must be on site and/or online to do so. In reality, you will be based from a regional depot/home 2 days per week and travelling around the region the remainder of the time.
Location: Northern England or Central Scotland
Travel: Regular travel across the region with occasional overnight stays.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Risk Management: Support and facilitate effective and proportionate management of HSQE across the North Region.
2. Relationship Building: Develop positive and proactive business relationships with all stakeholders.
3. Technical Support: Provide technical advice, coaching, training, and support delivery of risk management programs.
4. Continuous Improvement: Monitor and improve implementation of risk assessments, work instructions, and KPIs.
5. Incident Management: Support accident, incident, and near-miss investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
6. Compliance: Assist in maintaining ISO and FORS (Fleet Operators Recognition Scheme) accreditation and support internal and external audits.
What We're Looking For:
1. Experience: Recent and demonstrable experience as an HSQE Advisor.
2. Qualifications: Level 3 qualification in health and safety (essential); Level 6 (preferred).
3. Skills: Excellent communication, proactive support, and ability to act as a role model.
4. Expertise: Subject matter expert with specialist advice and support capabilities.
5. Professional Membership: Membership of an appropriate professional body; Chartered membership (desirable).
