An opportunity has arisen for a band 5 anaesthetics support (ODP) or a nurse with critical care background who is willing and has the enthusiasm to undertake the anaesthetic course to support our patients going through surgery.
We are currently seeking both newly qualified and experienced Anaesthetic practitioners (ODPs and Anaesthetic Nurses) to become part of a team working in our 18 theatre suite, which provides a wide range of elective and emergency surgery. Our surgical specialities include Vascular, HPB, General surgery, Head and Neck (including ENT and Maxillofacial), Urology, Orthopaedic, Renal and Transplant.
All applicants must have a relevant Anaesthetic qualification.
The post holder will work primarily within Manchester Royal Infirmary Theatres but may occasionally be required to work within theatres at other hospitals within the trust. The post holder is responsible for ensuring immediate care to the client group and will work primarily within the Theatre Department.
The post holder will prioritise, assess, plan, evaluate and deliver all relevant aspects of care to an agreed and expected high standard. They will work closely with the multi-disciplinary team and contribute to the clinical governance process. Act as a mentor/preceptor to junior staff, with specific responsibility for pre-registration students. Participate fully in a structured competency-based programme, as required.
The post holder will take delegated responsibility for the management of the clinical team on a shift basis, taking overall responsibility for effective management of the team and the maintenance of high standards of quality care to the client group.
