We are looking for an experienced Canteen Assistant to work in a warehouse based in Heywood. The company is a leading distributor for a major Food and Beverage industry. Role : Canteen assistant Hours: Fri and Sat 9pm - 5am and Sun 4pm - 8pm Pay rate: £12.56/hr £28.36 Sat and Sun allowance Duties: Prepare food: Cook, bake, make salads, set up and break down food preparation area, clean and sanitize food preparation equipment. Serve food: Take orders, clean up after customers, restock food and supplies. Manage inventory: Keep track of food and supply inventory levels, order new food and supplies, rotate food inventory. Clean and sanitize: Clean and sanitize the canteen kitchen, dining area, and other areas. Other duties: Take out the rubbish, set up and break down tables and chairs, help with special events. Qualifications required : Cooking experience: ideally within a canteen or restaurant environment. L2 Food Safety Certificate: This is a mandatory qualification for all food handlers in the UK. It demonstrates that you have the knowledge and skills to handle food safely. Should you not have one, we may be able to help with that. Customer service skills: Canteen assistants need to be able to provide excellent customer service. This includes being friendly and welcoming, being able to take orders, and being able to resolve any customer complaints. General skills: You will work on your own and as part of a team depending on the business needs. You will need to be flexible to do both and be able to work well with others, communicate effectively, and be willing to help out where needed.
