Special Investigator
Salary: £28,000 - £35,000 per annum (Depending on experience)
Location: Lakeside North Harbour, Portsmouth (Hybrid after the successful completion of the 6 month probation period)

The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen with Charles Taylor Specialist Investigations Services. We are currently seeking a Special Investigator to join our Specialist Investigations Services Business Unit to play a crucial role in protecting our clients from fraudulent activity. If you have a keen eye for detail, exceptional analytical skills, and a passion for uncovering fraudulent claims, this could be the perfect role for you!
As a Special Investigator, you will be responsible for conducting thorough investigations into suspected fraudulent insurance claims. You will work closely with various stakeholders, including your Charles Taylor colleagues, clients, law enforcement agencies, and legal professionals.
Key Responsibilities
1. Investigating potentially fraudulent claims made on a variety of insurance products. This will be done via cognitive telephone interviews, validation calls, video interviews, & liaising with UK/International offices and associates to coordinate field investigations. Ensure all relevant revenue opportunities are explored.
2. Adhering to relevant legislation that relates to your role as a Special Investigator.
3. Triaging suspected fraud referrals that are received into the team and recommending/implementing the required investigation.
4. Ensuring that complaints are captured and recorded following the current FCA complaint guidelines.
5. Liaising and maintaining excellent working relationships with CTSIS clients.
6. Recording fraud savings for our clients.
7. Acting as a role model and ensure that you are approachable to all members of Charles Taylor staff.
8. Assessing evidence and making decisions based on an impartial assessment of a claim.
9. Managing your own case load of investigations whilst ensuring that all your tasks are always up to date.
10. Writing detailed repudiation/challenge letters and investigation reports.
11. Maintaining a very high level of customer service at all times whilst still ensuring that our client's liability is fully protected, and only valid claims are paid.
12. You may be required to deal with high profile claims, high cost claims and debt recovery.
13. Ideally, the successful candidate will have a fraud qualification or is willing to study for a fraud qualification.
14. Uploading Discovery Social Media and Open Source Intelligence report requests to Charles Taylor's Discovery portal.
15. Conducting QA on Discovery Social Media and Open Source Intelligence reports to ensure the highest standard of reports are being sent to clients.
Person Specification
It would be advantageous if the candidate has a good understanding of general insurance and fraud investigation practice, and a good understanding of what fraud is, and the level of evidence required to formally reject an insurance claim on the grounds of fraud.
