Our client, leading M&E contractor, is looking for an experienced and strategic Group Health/Safety & Environment Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the Safety Department. This is a leadership role that requires a proactive approach to ensuring compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation while fostering a safe working environment for employees and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
·Provide clear leadership for the development of a safe working environment across all areas of the business.
·Develop and implement best practices in health and safety to ensure compliance with all current legislation, including Acts, Regulations, ACOPs, and industry standards.
·Work closely with Directors and Managers to establish a programme of continual improvement in health and safety management.
·Prepare and implement Health and Safety strategies and develop internal policies in conjunction with senior management.
·Ensure that all health and safety policies, procedures, and consultative documents are up-to-date and relevant changes are communicated to the Senior Management Team.
·Maintain ISO 9001, 14001 & 45001 certifications.
·Deliver IOSH training to employees as required.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
·NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
·Strong working knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and ISO standards.
·Experience in a leadership role within a Health & Safety department.
·Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
·The ability to work proactively and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
·Experience providing health and safety training, including IOSH courses.
