As a Commercial Finance Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in driving business performance through robust financial analysis, commercial insights, and decision support.
Reporting directly to the Financial Planning & Analysis Manager, you will be responsible for providing financial analysis and business partnering to support commercial decisions across various departments. You will work closely with senior leaders to develop forecasts, budgets, and strategies that align with the company’s growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities
* Commercial Analysis: Provide detailed financial analysis to support pricing, cost-saving initiatives, and revenue forecasting. Act as a key point of contact for commercial teams to ensure financial objectives are met.
* Business Partnering: Collaborate with sales, marketing, and operations teams to identify areas of financial opportunity, improve profitability, and optimise performance.
* Financial Reporting & Forecasting: Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Help prepare detailed forecasts and budgets to support strategic decision-making.
* Margin & Cost Analysis: Analyse product margins, overheads, and other key cost drivers to identify trends and areas for improvement. Advise on cost-effective solutions to improve margin performance.
* Project Support: Support various commercial projects by providing financial insights, modeling, and scenario analysis to help guide strategic decisions.
* Ad-Hoc Analysis: Provide ad-hoc commercial finance support, working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure financial visibility and alignment with broader business objectives.
What We're Looking For
* Qualifications: Part-qualified or fully qualified in a recognized accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent).
* Experience: 2-3 years in a commercial finance role, ideally within the manufacturing or food industry, with a focus on financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
* Skills: Strong commercial acumen with the ability to interpret financial data and translate it into actionable business insights.
* Software: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced level). Experience with ERP systems and financial modeling tools is a plus.
* Personal Attributes: Proactive, analytical, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage stakeholders across various departments.
