Critical Facilities Engineer
Job Summary
In the Engineering team at Equinix, we keep the lights on! We are responsible for maintaining the mechanical infrastructure across the various sites, including but not limited to HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning), chillers, chilled water units, and pumps.
Responsibilities
* Responsible for facility infrastructure maintenance.
* Perform site inspections and monitor building and data center alarms.
* Ensure preventative maintenance on site infrastructure is carried out (e.g., maintenance of primary infrastructures), or handled by vendors with oversight, managing permit to work system.
* Maintain repairs and run corrective maintenance on equipment.
* Prepare and carry out planned maintenance.
* Complete site logs and data gathering including MOPs and scripts.
* Assist senior staff with responding to on-site incidents and act as directed.
* Respond to basic incidents based on knowledge and experience.
Qualifications
* ONC/BTEC/NVQ or equivalent qualification in Mechanical.
* Previous facilities/maintenance experience.
* Good knowledge of critical infrastructure (e.g., cooling towers, water treatment systems).
* Self-motivated and flexible.
* Willingness to work shifts (days, nights & weekends).
