We are looking for a Restructuring Manager or Senior Manager to join our team.
Job Purpose:
A vacancy has arisen within our busy Restructuring Team for a Manager or Senior Manager, dependent upon experience, to manage corporate and personal insolvency cases.
The role will be based in either our Edinburgh or Glasgow office, but the successful applicant will work as a member of our Aberdeen and North team, managing a small team responsible for the compliant and efficient progression of all types of formal insolvency appointments.
Responsibilities will include (but not limited to):
* Managing and taking ownership of a portfolio of Administrations, Creditors’ Voluntary Liquidations, Court Winding Up cases, Members’ Voluntary Liquidations and Sequestrations
* Planning and managing efficient case progression
* Ensuring compliance with relevant insolvency legislation and best practice
* Maintaining high quality standards in the delivery of timely and focused written and verbal communication and reports
* Taking an active role in planning and agreeing case strategies with senior members of the team
* Liaising with agents, legal advisors and other stakeholders including the Accountant in Bankruptcy to ensure case progression in line with the case strategy agreed with the insolvency practitioner
* Performing initial interviews with directors of insolvent companies or individuals requiring debt advice, with senior team member support if necessary
* Ensuring deadlines, budgets and stakeholder expectations are met on individual cases
* Early identification of issues and opportunities which might impact on the delivery of a case strategy
* Ensuring that correspondence is completed in line with the firm’s Restructuring procedures and other relevant policies
* Preparation of draft reports and updates on case progression to relevant stakeholders including secured creditors, committees and other key stakeholders
* Management of time costs and billing of cases in their portfolio
* Support business development initiatives locally and across Scotland as required
* Training and coaching more junior members of the team
* Undertake some department wide compliance work in addition to casework which may include care and maintenance of work packs and diary systems; and
* Be willing to be involved in ad hoc restructuring and insolvency related projects.
About You:
* Several years’ experience of managing corporate and personal insolvency cases required
* Completion of the Certificate of Proficiency in Insolvency examination is desirable
* Strong working knowledge of an insolvency case management system and time/practice management systems
* Strong analytical skills and a keen attention to detail
* Experienced in use of the Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
* Ability to quickly learn to use our firm’s software systems and processes
* Flexibility in approach and able to attend client sites as and when required
* A leader of your work and your professional learning
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to positively impact and influence others
