SEN Teaching Assistant

Our large SEN school in Haywards Heath is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team. Position: SEN Teaching Assistant (Full-time)
Location: Haywards Heath
Start Date: Asap
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and group support to children with SEN, ensuring they receive the necessary guidance and encouragement in their educational development.
- Assist teachers in implementing tailored learning strategies and lesson plans.
- Support the social, emotional, and behavioural development of students.
- Help with the preparation and adaptation of learning resources and materials.
- Foster an inclusive, supportive, and positive classroom environment for all students.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is essential.
- A patient, understanding, and empathetic approach to working with children.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with teachers, students, and parents.
- A proactive and flexible attitude to meet the diverse needs of the children.
- Due to the rural location of the school, it is essential that you drive and have access to your own transport.

Experience, Training and Qualifications
- GCSE's or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year working with children
- Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year
Eligibility
- Hold Right to Work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
- Provide two professional child related references
