This is an exciting opportunity to join the team in Trauma Outpatients. You will be a Trainee Orthopaedic Practitioner in the Plaster Room working alongside Senior Orthopaedic Practitioners and Plaster technicians. This is a training role in which you will need to complete the British Orthopaedic Association Casting Course and on qualification will be uplifted to a Band 4 Orthopaedic Practitioner. Your role will involve application of plaster casts to patients attending Trauma Outpatients, working with a multidisciplinary team of Nurses, Doctors, and Physiotherapists.
The team in Trauma Outpatients consists of Nurses, Health Care Assistants, and Senior Orthopaedic Practitioners. There are a variety of clinics ranging from elective clinics to fracture clinics.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Application and removal of plaster casts
2. Assisting in theatre
3. Training of junior staff
Leadership and Improvement Training
South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust offers leadership and improvement training to all new staff.
