Salary: will depend on experience interested in graduates and more experienced candidates.
We are looking for a qualified and experienced Insurance IT Technician that will install and maintain computer systems and networks aiming for the highest functionality. You will also “train” users of the insurance systems to make appropriate and safe usage of the IT infrastructure.
A successful IT Technician must have a thorough knowledge of computer software and hardware and a variety of internet applications, networks and operating systems. The ideal candidate will also have great troubleshooting abilities and attention to detail.
The goal is to work closely with the management team to build and maintain all computer systems and networks to optimize the role of technology on business sustainability.
Responsibilities:
1. Innovate areas of the business we can improve within the IT space
2. Project manage major projects across all areas of the business – Insurance Systems build and maintenance, Building Chatbots for different departments, WhatsApp Quoting etc.
3. Set up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices (routers, printers etc.)
4. Check computer hardware (HDD, mouses, keyboards etc.) to ensure functionality
5. Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications
6. Develop and maintain local networks in ways that optimize performance
7. Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems
8. Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment
9. Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their work
10. Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging etc.)
11. Maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule
12. Identify computer or network equipment shortages and place orders
Requirements and Skills:
1. Proven experience as IT Technician or similar role
2. Excellent diagnostic and problem solving skills
3. Experience using OpenGI desirable
4. Excellent communication ability
5. Outstanding organisational and time-management skills
6. In depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks
7. Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles
8. Innovative, ambitious and entrepreneurial personality
