PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The Senior Electrical Test Technician role is to support the technical compliance team to ensure the buildings across the client's estate are tested and inspected in line with the latest guidance and clients' requirements. This mobile role will predominately be in and around the Cambridge area but will cover all the client's southern account. We will expect you to carry out your role with minimum guidance and to liaise with the planning team and compliance team to ensure all KPI's are met, and the systems are kept in a serviceable and safe condition.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Supporting all aspects of the accounts technical and compliance responsibilities:
1. To lead the testing team in undertaking high quality inspection and testing within laboratory, office, and various other environments.
2. To ensure the electrical systems are compliant with BS7671 and clients specific standards, ensuring implementation and compliance within these policies.
3. Ensure the RCD testing is carried out.
4. EV chargers 2 yearly inspection and testing is carried out.
5. Repairs that can be completed whilst isolations are in place are completed to prevent the need to disrupt science for remedial repairs.
6. EICR's are carried out to a high standard with only agreed limitations.
7. Supporting Technical Compliance Manager with Electrical compliance across the account.
8. Ensure all health and safety policies and procedures set out by the client and employer are implemented.
9. Attend weekly toolbox talks and complete all training set out by the client and employer.
10. Manage the client compliance software to directly report on the condition of the electrical systems.
11. Liaise with the client, planning team, compliance team and all other stakeholders.
12. To actively engage with personal development.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Reporting to the CBRE Technical Compliance Manager.
2. Responsibility to ensure delivery of services.
3. Responsible for upkeep of documentation and logbooks.
EDUCATION
1. Desirable to be time served electrical apprenticeship or equivalent. Extensive experience considered as an alternative.
2. Essential to have NVQ level 3 in an Electrical installation or maintenance discipline.
3. Low Voltage Authorised Person.
EXPERIENCE
1. Experienced in using compliance tracking software with little or no supervision.
2. Extensive computer literacy skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio etc).
3. Strong problem-solving skills, technically adept and analytical.
4. Have worked in a critical environment.
5. Experienced in working within critical environments.
6. Experienced in lightning protection systems and surge protective devices.
