Lifestyles model of care can help support children and young people who may at times display behaviours of concern or have displayed behaviours of concern in their history and who may have a diagnosis of neurodivergence such as ADHD or ASD. These behaviours may manifest themselves in but not limited to absconding, physical aggression, verbal aggression, damaging property, self-harming, sexualised behaviours, threatening behaviours and cruelty to animals. About the Role Lifestyles has an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and motivated individual to join our team in the role of Team Lead within our 2 bed residential children's home. You will be part of the Leadership team providing support to management and to a team of dedicated Residential Care Workers. You will be working with a maximum of 2 young people aged between 6-12 years. You will work to build positive relationships with the staff team, young people, assessing strengths and looking at innovative ways to overcome any challenges that our young people experience. You will be required to work as part of our multi disciplinary team to create a therapeutic and safe environment where young people can feel secure, cared for and valued. What you will be doing 1. As a Team Lead you will support the Deputy Manager and Registered Manager in guiding your team to deliver the highest standards of care and working in line with minimum standards 2023 and children's home regulations 2005 2. Work co-operatively with children's services, health agencies and other community based services, networking to ensure the young people are receiving the most effective service and achieving their true potential. 3. Take responsibility for complex cases/ situations presenting within the service and work diligently as part of a multi disciplinary team with an aim of achieving a high quality, safe and well managed care and support service 4. Apply safeguarding and child protection procedures and ensure full compliance in line with organisational policies and procedures 5. You will take a lead role in organising the young peoples diaries/ calendar/ appointments and supporting the management team to ensure young people have education provision, GP, Dentist etc 6. You will work closely with young people and organise and facilitate key working sessions, you will then report on the key working sessions and progress to the management team and team of residential care workers 7. You will support the management team in identifying and health and safety concerns in and around the home, adding a maintenance log of any issues you find that need fixed 8. You will create a monthly young persons progress report and share this report with Registered Manager and Deputy Manager who will then review and forward this report to other statutory bodies involved in the young persons care and support.. 9. Attend Team Meetings and participate offering your opinion/ feedback and communicating young persons feedback during key working sessions 10. On shift you will take the lead role coordinating daily tasks such as cleaning, cooking, activity outings, menu planning and decision making (contacting on call if further support is needed) 11. You will take a lead role in ensuring young peoples siles are fully up to date, alerting management team if you find reports etc are not in date 12. You will attend formal meetings for young people such as LAC reviews and Care Planning meetings etc Skills, knowledge and qualities Demonstrated ability to independently use Microsoft Office Packages. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Leadership skills inspire team, advocate on behalf of the young person Team work small team, senior management team, broader stakeholder team High level report writing Ability to engage with stakeholders with a high level of professionalism Desirable CRITERIA Degree Qualification in Social Work or a related field 2 Years experience in working with young people who have been through trauma and may present with behaviours of concern 1 Years experience in leading a team within childrens services. Experience of working with regulatory bodies such as RQIA Ability to be on a rotational on call system for a minimum of 1 week Ability to demonstrate and work within the organisations values, ethos and mission statement Ability to have shown the use of own initiative and setting a high standard of practice Driving Licence Satisfactory Enhanced Access NI clearance TERMS AND CONDITIONS Salary £34,000 per annum Hours Full-time (38 Hours Per a Week) Shift Patterns, evenings and weekends included Holidays 28 days per year including bank holidays Probation You will serve a probationary period of six months.
