Job Description:
The Role
We wish to appoint an Out of School Club Playworker.
The hours of the post offer flexibility, allowing you more time for other commitments.
This position is ideal for someone looking to expand their experience in childcare. Candidates should have some experience working with children, such as with brownie/scout groups or in a play-based setting, and be familiar with good practices related to working with children.
We seek a dynamic, energetic, and well-organized individual to assist in running our Out of School Club. Experience in delivering sports, dance, or possessing creative flair and sharing ideas is welcome.
Your responsibilities include ensuring children’s safety and security, providing high-quality, consistent care, building trusting relationships with children aged 4-11, and providing positive feedback to parents and carers. You must adhere to policies and procedures related to safeguarding. We offer a welcoming, experienced, and supportive team in a well-resourced environment.
Holiday hours:
OOSC Staff are required to cover the holiday club hours (8:00 am - 6:00 pm).
You will work your usual hours during holidays: February, May, October half-term, the second week of Easter, and four weeks during summer holidays.
This typically involves at least 2 days a week during these periods, in line with your usual weekly hours (22.5). Hours worked during holidays are paid as additional overtime. You may work more hours to support the department.
Holiday entitlement:
The role includes 7 weeks of annual leave: 2 weeks at Christmas, 1 week at Easter, 3 weeks in summer, and 1 week during October, plus days not worked during holiday clubs.
