Oxleas are seeking to recruit to a highly motivated, Band 8a clinical/counselling psychologist or CBT therapist to join our expanding and developing community Perinatal Mental Health Team.
It is an exciting time to join the team as it is a burgeoning and innovative field for perinatal psychology. Our Perinatal team offers a unique opportunity to develop skills in both adult mental health and also to develop skills in parent infant and family work. It is an ideal opportunity for psychologist with an interest in attachment, developmental psychology, infant mental health and working with family systems.
The trust wide service is based at Queen Mary’s hospital and consists of a multidisciplinary team of professionals including consultant psychiatrists, specialist perinatal nurses, clinical psychologists, CBT therapists, nursery nurses and OTs. We offer a community service for pregnant and postnatal women with severe and complex mental health difficulties. The team has close links with other services, including IAPT, secondary care mental health teams and maternity as well as third sector organisations. We work collaboratively with other services and with experts by experience to continue to provide high quality care and are committed to ensure excellent outcomes for women and their families.
Main duties of the job
* To provide specialist psychological assessment and intervention for mothers, their babies and families in the community.
* To offer clinical supervision to more junior staff and trainees.
* To deliver evidence-based individual and group-based interventions.
* To be part of a friendly and supportive team with established reflective practice space and regular individual supervision.
* To develop supervision skills and engage with clinical and counselling doctorate programs.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
* To be responsible for the day to day management of psychological provision to the team.
* To operate as an integrated member of the team, placing the patient at the centre of service planning and delivery.
* To bring a psychological perspective to the work of the team.
* To provide psychosocial assessment, formulation and interventions to patients.
* To promote and facilitate psychological capability within the team.
* To work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise responsibility for the systematic governance of psychological practice within the team.
* To utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and research.
Person specification
Experience
* Experience of working with a wide variety of service user groups across the whole life course.
Qualification
* Registered with Health and Care Professions Council as a Practitioner Psychologist.
Knowledge
* Highly-developed skills in the use of complex methods of psychological assessment, intervention and management.
