As Supply Chain Manager your role will be to manage the Supply Chain team composed of Buyers and Assistant Buyers to procure goods and services to enable the delivery of the company’s projects. The Supply Chain team is responsible for the full procurement value stream. From providing costings for customer project bids, developing requirements and Bills of Materials with Engineers and Project Managers, obtaining Supplier quotes, negotiating terms, placing orders and ensuring goods and services are delivered on time. To achieve this the Supply Chain team maintains a group of approved suppliers and is always developing and onboarding new suppliers based on Company needs. You will work with our quality team to ensure supplier approvals are in place and specifications are met. On an ongoing basis you will review supplier performance to ensure KPIs are being met and cost saving opportunities are being realised. The role of Supply Chain Manager is to manage and develop the team, leading best practice both in side the function and the wider business. As a Manager within the business you will be responsible for working with other functional managers to ensure compliance to process, best cost sourcing and minimisation of supply chain risk. The role reports to the Group Supply Chain Director and will include helping to develop company and functional strategy and processes. As well as delegating for the Director as required. Essential Skills, Experience & Behaviours Competent in the procurement of parts and services for a manufacturing/engineering business Competent sourcing from a Bill of Materials or Scope of Works Competent developing RFI and RFQs Evidence of developing and executing cost reduction projects Experience of placing purchase orders and other contractual orders Negotiation & commercial acumen Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft office packages Desirable Competent in leading and developing small teams Experience of working in a safety critical industry such as defence, nuclear, construction or aerospace Competent in the use of an ERP Platform such as Microsoft Dynamics or SAP. A full driving licence is required for travel to Group assembly workshops and suppliers. The successful candidate must be willing and able to undergo SC Clearance. Be accountable for the delivery of compliant and on time goods and services to the business. Monitor performance & trends and implement changes where required Lead the manage of Supplier relationships. Ensure appropriate contractual tools (purchase orders, contracts, frameworks) to manage and protect the business’s Supplier interactions are used. Develop, deliver and report on procurement cost saving plans across the portfolio in line with targets. Co-ordinate with the Quality function to maintain Supplier approvals and ensure product requirements are flowed out to Suppliers. Support communication of the high-level supply chain strategy and lead the delivery for your Supplier portfolio. Develop supplier capability and onboarding new suppliers to deliver Supply Chain strategy. Ensure compliance to procurement processes with other company functions. Provide information to the Sales team as required for bids.
