Where you'll work:
Our Professional Services Directorates have the vital role of delivering the strategies, services, systems and processes that underpin our academic mission. Supporting a community of 40,000 people within an organisation with an annual turnover of £393 million, the Directorates deploy diverse professional expertise to ensure the continued success of the University and the wellbeing of its staff and students.
Our Legal team underpins this by supporting the University on a wide variety of Legal issues. From advising on key multi-million pound construction projects to working with HR providing employment law guidance, Legal play a crucial role in the day-to-day running of the University.
The role:
Our Legal team is looking to recruit a Senior Solicitor on a part time, permanent basis (3 days per week) to provide specialist, technical legal advice in relation to employment law matters. You will also be involved in advising on student issues involving our student complaints process.
About you:
As the successful candidate, you will be a qualified Solicitor or Barrister with specialist knowledge of employment law matters. You will have experience of advising on complex and sensitive matters at a senior level and will be able to liaise credibly and articulately with other professionals. You will be able to cultivate strong relationships in order to communicate the importance of legal compliance and to negotiate effectively.
