Commercial Manager UK Location: UK – Anywhere Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week, 9:00 – 17:30 Monday to Friday About the position: Main purpose of role is the development of new & retention of pre agreed strategic opportunities within the UK for Hellmann’s European Road Freight business, in alignment with your personal annual target, company strategy, culture and values. Key Tasks and Responsibilities will include: Achieve and exceed a designated target GP/Vol in line with UK CCO. Develop relationships with Hellmann’s global offices Ensure European Road Freight Logistics & build strong communication lines Develop opportunities in line with Hellmann’s Strategic business plan. Drive customer RFI/RFQ processes and responses either as a lead and/or in collaboration with the country or regional tender management team Own and/or support the network in regards to the implementation process of new and/or existing customers including Standard Operating Procedures, Technical Agreements and IT applications Develop new target accounts Assist the local Branch Management in retention of secured business. Maintain regular dialogue on customer development with manager and wider team. Develop strong working relationships with procurement, IS & operations team. Develop and maintain personal expertise in selling skills and industry knowledge. Represent the Company in a positive and professional manner, ensuring that the corporate DNA and family values are adhered to at all times. Own and deliver specific projects as assigned by the line manager To monitor all Accounts to ensure low and nil spend customers are immediately identified and relevant follow up action is taken. The full Sales process must be clearly defined and maintained effectively through HISA demonstrating the full process from start to finish. Pipeline activity must drive three point sales stage prospect, solution design and decision on all active prospects / accounts. To actively complete a new business claim for all newly awarded business. To complete regular one to one self-development alignment with UK CCO on a half yearly basis. About you: The ideal candidate will be educated in Maths and English (oral and written) to GCSE, Standard Grade or equivalent; grade A-C and be able to demonstrate highly competent computer skills in all areas of Microsoft office. Proven experience gained in either NVOCC Product Management or Carrier Management position Experience of operating in a senior sales role at a strategic level Ability to establish and build trusted long term relationships with customers whilst ensuring that both customer expectations and business needs are met Ability to adapt quickly and find pragmatic solutions to issues that may arise. Ability to identify and stay on top of account performance Be a self-starter with the ability to identify appropriate tools in order to maximise sales/ revenue Strong Negotiator with an ability to recognise intuitively when to hold their ground and push back where necessary Ability to drive and holds a clean current UK licence. Salary is dependent upon qualifications and experience.
