Job Description
A client within the Public Sector based in West Yorkshire is currently recruiting for a Surveyor to join their property management team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, ongoing contract position with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a Local Authority.
The Role
Key purpose of the role is to be responsible for Landlord and Tenant matters including lease interpretation, advice on granting and taking of leases, dilapidations, and general land and property queries from prospective tenants or members of the public.
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
1. Responsible for Community Asset Transfers across the council, working closely with colleagues in the Place and Communities Directorates
2. Ensure property and land used by community groups meets both their needs and the long term strategic objectives of the council.
3. Provide information and support the development of the council's estates strategy.
4. Provide leasehold advisory services across the council on operational matters.
5. Responsible for the identification and resolution of title issues, boundary disputes and encroachments, with regards Council and Land Registry records.
The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require to have a Bachelor's degree in Estates
Management or related subject.
It will be essential to be in experiences in the below:
6. Knowledge of lease negotiation, new lettings, and landlord and tenant matters.
7. Knowledge of case law and legislation across all property related matters.
8. Understanding of relevant property issues, legislation, codes of practice and health and safety.
9. An awareness of current and imminent industry reforms and trends.
The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £25 per hour Umbrella Ltd. (approx. £20 PAYE).
