Job Title: Casual Site Assistant
Rate: £12.89 per hour
Hours of work: By negotiation and agreement with the Academy. Typically, hours will be during the Academy day, between 8am and 5pm.
Ormiston Shelfield Community Academy is an exciting and dynamic place to work. We are an oversubscribed secondary academy with over 1400 students on roll at Key Stages 3-5. We are looking to recruit a Casual Site Assistant working under the direction of the Site Manager, to ensure the premises are safe and well maintained at all times. The role includes responsibility for site security, school lettings, liaising with contractors, managing emergencies and internal and external maintenance of the school.
The ideal candidate will:
1. Have a general knowledge of site maintenance
2. Have a general knowledge of health and safety issues in schools
3. Be enthusiastic and committed to learning new skills
4. Be a team player who can also use their own initiative
As part of your wider duties and responsibilities, you are required to promote and actively support the Academy’s responsibilities towards safeguarding.
This position is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check and suitable references for the successful applicant.
