This role is central to National Records of Scotland (NRS) and will give the successful candidate an opportunity to gain insight and experience at the heart of our business. Your role within our Business Management Unit (BMU) will provide support to the Chief Executive, as well as members of the wider Executive Management Team. You will support the corporate governance boards and processes. The work is varied and interesting and at the heart of senior decision making in the organisation giving you exposure to the management of a Scottish Government public body and provides opportunities to develop a wide variety of skills. Responsibilities Have responsibility for the day-to-day management of the BMU, providing high quality support to the Chief Executive and other members of our Executive Management Team. Provide corporate secretariat resources for our Corporate Governance Boards, including managing the established meeting cadence and delivering the secretariat requirements for our Corporate Governance and other governance groups. Direct your team in the management of the BMU mailboxes: ensuring that processing and prioritisation of information, co-ordination of responses and delegation on behalf of the Chief Executive and other Directors is achieved according to requirements and process. Manage the corporate and other correspondence provision, ensuring our processes are followed and targets are achieved. Act as the first escalation point for all Freedom of Information Requests and Complaints and ensure that each mailbox has full rota cover each week. Support short term projects identified for corporate governance improvements. Line management of 5 x Business Support Officers (B1). You will also provide counter signing officer support for 3 x Executive Assistants (A4) team members.
