The Impact You Will Have
Reporting to the Regional Head of Claims, UK, you will play a crucial role in upholding Allianz's commitment to excellence by navigating complex cases with empathy and precision, ultimately contributing to the company's reputation as a leader in the insurance industry.
Some of your specific responsibilities could include:
1. Manage and lead a team of Claim Handlers, providing guidance, training, and development opportunities. Engage in succession planning to ensure team continuity and growth.
2. Maintain accurate claims records for designated accounts using Allianz Commercial Claims administration systems. Support credit control processes by reviewing late/non-payment of premiums.
3. Work closely with the Regional Head of Claims to support the implementation of claims innovations and advances.
4. Produce management information reports, such as monthly major claims movements, and proactively identify loss trends to drive data quality improvements.
5. Investigate standard and complex claims, determine coverage, and evaluate loss exposures. Establish appropriate reserving levels and manage technical referrals.
6. Settle standard and complex claims efficiently, ensuring competitive settlements. Support subrogation processes and adhere to settlement guidelines.
7. Ensure claims are handled within authority limits and in line with Allianz Commercial Claims procedures. Prepare referral documentation for cases outside authority levels and conduct audits of external service providers.
8. Represent Allianz Commercial positively in the market, liaise with Distribution to support business growth, and participate in client meetings to promote claims handling capabilities.
9. Develop and maintain strong relationships with key brokers, clients, and stakeholders, fostering collaboration across functional areas in the claims handling process.
What You'll Bring to the Role
1. Strong understanding of relevant products, wordings, terms, conditions, and coverages, with the ability to apply this knowledge effectively.
2. In-depth knowledge of the claims handling process from notification to settlement and recovery, ensuring efficient and accurate claims management.
3. Comprehensive understanding of reserving principles and practices, as well as robust knowledge of coinsurance and reinsurance applications.
4. Familiarity with relevant legal processes and procedures, including litigation management and litigation avoidance techniques such as mediation.
5. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly and effectively express ideas and messages both verbally and in writing.
6. Well recognized established relationship building with brokers at peer group level and well established within local market.
7. In depth understanding of regional / local LoB insurance.
8. Proficient in negotiation and conflict management, capable of achieving the best outcomes for Allianz Commercial and clients, even in contentious situations.
9. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to absorb information from various sources, analyze data in detail, and draw appropriate conclusions.
10. Proven ability to lead and manage a team, including delegating tasks and steering team direction and goals effectively.
