(b) To provide support and personal care for a young gentleman who suffers from a neuro condition Adrenoleukodystrophy and Young Onset Frontotemporal Dementia, and also epilepsy.
He is a 53-year-old gentleman with an 11-year-old daughter and 3 grown children from a previous marriage, his wife is his main carer but is hoping to return to part time work in September.
He needs support with all daily living tasks including personal care as he struggles with sequencing.
We require somebody who makes him feel comfortable and to share his interests/activities. He enjoys being outdoors, the beach, walking, watching football; his favourite team is Newcastle United.
He would like to support to find new hobbies and remain active as he cannot make these decisions for himself. He is a very calm gentleman, horizontal is how himself and family describes him, with a fab personality.
Hours 6 hours per week in total, used as follows: 2 hours per week – 1 hour on Wednesday’s between 6:00pm and 7:00pm and 1 hour between 6:00pm and 7:00pm on Friday’s. 2 hours on Friday mornings and 2 hours on Saturday mornings.
We would like the successful applicant to cover some of the hours for existing support workers when they take holiday, as much notice of these dates as possible will be provided.
Rate of Pay £13.09 per hour. Holiday entitlement is 5.6 weeks per year pro-rata. Out-of-pocket expenses will be paid by employer, for example mileage and cost of any activities.
