Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager to develop and implement a strategic Supply Chain Management approach that aligns with the company’s business objectives. This role will be pivotal in fostering strong relationships with our supply chain, identifying strategic procurement opportunities, and ensuring seamless operations that contribute to the company’s profitability and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Supply Chain Management:
* Act as the key contact for Hill Group Ltd and external database software support teams.
* Implement and provide training for the Hill supply chain database.
* Manage and update the supply chain database, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
* Oversee the performance criteria for supply chain entry, ensuring alignment with business needs.
* Review trade categories regularly to maintain a balanced and effective supply chain network.
* Develop procedures to enhance compliance, efficiency, and best practices across the supply chain.
Supplier & Subcontractor Relations:
* Collaborate with Constructionline to maximise supply chain membership and engagement.
* Maintain a strong relationship with software providers to optimise database functionality.
* Conduct thorough vetting processes for prospective supply chain members before introduction.
* Organise and promote Supply Chain engagement events to strengthen relationships.
* Work with regional teams to ensure sufficient trade availability to meet project timelines.
* Monitor supply chain performance, ensuring continuous improvement and compliance.
* Conduct regular reviews to assess supplier performance and address underperformance or exceptional contributions.
* Provide comprehensive reports to Regional Directors, Commercial Managers, and Heads of Customer Care.
* Manage the Preferred Supplier List for Trades & Labour Agencies and oversee its periodic renewal.
Quality & Compliance:
* Support the Head of Health and Safety in ensuring all supply chain members meet minimum H&S standards.
* Manage the onboarding process for new suppliers, ensuring compliance with company policies.
* Monitor supply chain compliance, highlighting potential risks and addressing issues proactively.
* Generate reports covering:
o Database additions and suspensions
o Financial stability assessments
o Accreditation compliance
o Performance reviews
o Expenditure tracking
* Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety policies and relevant legislation.
Financial Management:
* Oversee the collection of manufacturer rebates annually.
* Collaborate with the M&E Manager and Specification Administrator to evaluate market competitiveness and optimise specifications.
* Continuously monitor supplier and subcontractor numbers to maintain an optimal database.
Team & Relationship Management:
* Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including Directors, Commercial Managers, and Contracts Managers.
* Demonstrate a proactive and solution-driven approach to supply chain management.
* Provide mentorship and training for new and existing team members, ensuring continuous development.
* Conduct regular meetings with supply chain members and organise business forums to update them on industry changes, legislative requirements, and corporate updates.
Success Measures:
* Effective day-to-day management of the supply chain function with minimal supervision.
* Identification and communication with suppliers, subcontractors, and consultants while ensuring thorough due diligence.
* Establishment of long-term, performance-driven supplier relationships focusing on value, service quality, and continuous improvement.
* Maximisation of annual rebates from strategic partners.
* Transparent feedback and performance assessments shared with the supply chain.
* Proactive review meetings with supply chain partners to address performance and market competitiveness.
* Effective risk management and mitigation of procurement-related challenges.
* Integration of alternative construction methods and procurement strategies to drive cost efficiencies and innovation.
Skills & Experience:
* HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
* Strong strategic understanding of business and the critical role of Supply Chain Management.
* Contractual and commercial acumen.
* Up-to-date knowledge of procurement and supply chain best practices.
* Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance expertise.
* Exceptional influencing, analytical, and evaluation skills.
* Excellent communication and business planning abilities.
* Leadership experience, with a focus on coaching and team development.
* Ability to manage performance effectively, providing feedback and resolving issues.
* Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
