We are looking to recruit a motivated, performance and people-driven leader as the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Unit Manager who will work as part of the Senior Leadership Team to provide an outstanding safeguarding service to the communities of Beds, Cambs, and Herts.
The DBS Manager will be based at Beds, Cambs, or Herts and will lead a team of DBS Supervisors across multiple locations. This is a full-time position at 37 hours per week. You will be able to discuss the base location if successful in getting the role.
This is an exciting opportunity to become personally involved in protecting vulnerable members of your community from harm through the provision of information to prospective employers. The purpose of the Disclosure and Barring Service Team is to safeguard children and vulnerable adults by assessing, reviewing, and providing information to the Disclosure and Barring service customers and partners to enable safer recruitment decisions.
The DBS Team also discloses information directly to employers through the Common Law Police Disclosures process post-employment when an immediate public protection risk has been identified.
Through this role, you can make a real difference in people’s lives by protecting those who may be unable to protect themselves and those that trust others to protect them.
The DBS Team is committed to safeguarding the vulnerable. In Beds, Cambs, and Herts, we service approximately 108,000 applications a year between our three locations and our dynamic team of 46 people.
For further information on the role, please contact John McGuire, Head of BCH DBS and CLPD at john.mcguire@beds.police.uk.
The closing date for applications is Friday, 7th March 2025.
