Job title: Advanced Apprentice Engineering Technical – Support Engineer

What you’ll be doing:
As a Support Engineer Apprentice, you will be involved in identifying maintenance needs, the tools and spares required, and understanding the reliability and availability of the equipment on-board. This role involves applying engineering and logistic principles to develop solutions to support Astute, Dreadnought, and SSNA Class of Submarines and their operations. Problem-solving skills and a desire to understand engineering systems and components are essential.
During this three and a half year apprenticeship, you will rotate through different teams to develop into a well-rounded Support Engineer, acquiring the necessary skills to ensure that the equipment we design and support can be operated and maintained safely, effectively, and efficiently. Please note that this apprenticeship is predominantly office-based.
During the apprenticeship, the main duties will include:
* Conduct Design for Support – Ensuring what is designed can be supported.
* Conduct Availability and Reliability analysis – Using modelling tools and techniques to assess the reliability and availability of equipment and systems.
* Conduct Reliability Centered Maintenance – Using approved industry toolsets to assess potential failures and maintenance schedules.
* Create Initial Support Packages – Ensuring that the right spares and tools are in the right locations, at the right time, in the right condition, and with the correct quantities.
* Production of digital technical information that is complete, coherent, and consistent – Supporting operations, maintenance, diagnosis, repair, and disposal of equipment through-life.
* Configuration Management of data and products – Understanding what you have and in what condition.

5 GCSE A*-C or 9-4 (or equivalent) Including Maths, English & Science or Technical Subject.
