Notting Hill Prep is renowned for its ambition and innovation in the arts. We are looking to strengthen our provision by appointing a Director of Performing Arts. The successful candidate will be an exceptional drama teacher who relishes creating a unique curriculum for the classroom and leading an extensive and progressive performance programme.
The success of such a department will very much be dependent upon the ability of the successful candidate to work with our brilliant Head of Music to design an annual programme that is second to none. Collaboration will allow the children to excel and fly in this important area of school life.
The successful candidate will teach and promote drama and support and guide the music across all age groups, from Reception to Year 8.
We are a school where ambitious, professional and committed teachers are well supported, and can learn quickly and advance their careers.
Notting Hill Prep is a ‘Thinking School’, a title which reflects its approach to education and its devotion to instilling in its children the values of resilience, creativity and responsibility. We teach children not merely to learn, but to learn how to learn. The successful applicant will share the school’s aspirations.
Good personal presentation, a friendly disposition and a willingness to participate in school life are considered important qualities for this position.
This role will involve contact with, and responsibility for, children and will amount to ‘regulated activity’.
The salary will be up to £63,958 pa (including an allowance of £4,250 pa as Head of Department), depending on experience.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the DBS.
The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974) and the School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are ‘spent’ unless they are ‘protected’ under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
