Job Title: MFL Teacher (French)
Location: Crawley, West Sussex
Start Date: September 2024
Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) Teacher to join a vibrant secondary school community in Crawley. The successful candidate will primarily teach French, with the potential to teach additional languages depending on expertise. This is a full-time, permanent position starting in September 2024.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging French lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of Key Stage 5.
* Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and achievement.
* Assess and monitor student progress, providing regular feedback and support to ensure academic success.
* Collaborate with colleagues to develop and enhance the MFL curriculum.
* Participate in departmental meetings, parents' evenings, and professional development activities.
* Contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular activities and school events.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
* A degree in French or a related field.
* Proven experience teaching French at secondary school level.
* Strong classroom management skills and the ability to inspire and motivate students.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* A commitment to continuous professional development and a passion for language education.
Desirable:
* Ability to teach an additional language (e.g., Spanish, German) is advantageous but not essential.
* Experience with modern teaching technologies and methodologies.
