At Edgar Wood Academy, we are seeking a Senior Head of Year to take a leading role in delivering outstanding pastoral care across multiple year groups. This is a unique opportunity to shape and implement school-wide behaviour, attendance, and safeguarding strategies while mentoring and supporting Heads of Year. What You'll Be Doing: Leading a team of Heads of Year, ensuring consistency in pastoral care and student support. Acting as the senior point of contact for escalated behavioural and safeguarding concerns. Using data-driven approaches to monitor and improve attendance and behaviour. Working closely with school leadership and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for students. Developing parental engagement initiatives and strengthening home-school relationships. What We're Looking For: Proven experience in a pastoral leadership role within an educational setting. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage and develop a team. Expertise in student behaviour, attendance interventions, and safeguarding procedures. A proactive and strategic mindset, using data to drive meaningful change.
