A caring and supportive personal assistant is required for a happy and sociable fifteen-year-old boy with autism and global developmental delay, who lives in Truro.
He needs help with all aspects of daily living and communicates through body language, facial expressions, and sounds, as he is non-verbal.
His favourite activities involve music, lights, and dancing, and he uses a wheelchair when out in the community.
Your support will enable him to explore the local area and enjoy more social opportunities.
This is a rewarding opportunity to help a young person grow and achieve greater independence while making a positive impact on their life.
The rate of pay starts at £12.00 per hour, with the potential for an increase based on the candidate's skills and experience.
There are seven hours per week available, with flexible scheduling to suit the candidate’s availability.
Some knowledge or personal experience of working with young people with special educational needs is essential.
The successful applicant will be employed under a private arrangement with the family, and not be employed or carry out work for Cornwall Council.
