The Role & Key Responsibilities

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced programme management professional to join the Joint Surrey & Sussex Police Change Delivery team to lead the Our Plan Operating Model (OPOM) Programme in Surrey Police, which will review a number of areas of our policing model and involve the delivery and implementation of a range of business change and technology-enabled projects that aim to improve the service that we offer to the public and set the force up for the future. Working to the Chief Superintendent Programme Director, this role will play a key part in shaping the programme.
This role will sit within the wider Change Delivery team, who support local, bilateral and regional change activity to ensure that the forces can provide efficient and cost-effective policing services.
Day-to-day duties and key responsibilities:
* Managing the OPOM programme and projects within, ensuring their successful delivery.
* Line managing a team of Project Managers.
* Ensuring programme outcomes are understood and communicated, agreeing and monitoring key deliverables and milestones, establishing resource requirements, identifying and managing risks and reporting progress to stakeholders as required.
* Coordinating time, budget, and resources, and delegating tasks across the programme team.
* Provide a range of services including programme management, authoritative advice, and consultancy to business leads across the organisation.
* You may also undertake project and programme health checks and Post Implementation Reviews (PIRs).
Skills & Experience

* have experience in successfully delivering programmes in a business improvement context, maximising the benefits of technological innovation for operational efficiency and cost effectiveness.
* be able to influence and build effective working relationships at all levels of the organisation and in particular the ability to provide credible advice to SROs and senior project stakeholders.
* have excellent leadership skills, inspiring your team to deliver a high standard of service.
* work on your own initiative and respond flexibly to rapidly changing demands when under pressure.
* have well developed communication skills, both written and verbal, to produce clear and concise reports and presentations. You will also have strong attention to detail.
* be a creative problem-solver, with strong commercial acumen, able to analyse and interpret data to devise and implement solutions that deliver value for money for police services.

Please note that this role attracts a market supplement of £4,000 per annum and we are seeking a candidate to fulfil a 2 year Fixed Term Contract, Hybrid working.
Flexible/condensed working hours applications welcomed. The role will be based at Surrey Police HQ (in Guildford) but the team work flexibly including working from home for part of the week. There will be some requirement to travel to other police sites with Surrey and East/West Sussex including Sussex Police HQ in Lewes. This role is within a unit where Surrey Police and Sussex Police work in collaboration, whilst continuing to be two separate legal entities/employers with different terms and conditions.
