Are you a dedicated and accomplished Finance Manager with a passion for shaping the financial landscape of educational institutions? If so, we invite you to explore a fantastic opportunity with GSL Education. We are currently searching for a Finance Manager to join our client school in Bromley.

Responsibilities:
1. Budget Planning and Oversight: Collaborate with the Headteacher and Trust Finance Team to develop, monitor, and manage the school's budget, ensuring alignment with financial regulations and effective resource use.
2. Financial Reporting and Compliance: Prepare and present accurate financial reports, including annual and multi-year budgets, while ensuring adherence to the Trust's Financial Handbook and all statutory reporting requirements.
3. Team Leadership and Development: Supervise the finance team, providing mentorship and identifying training needs to enhance efficiency and performance, including conducting regular performance reviews.
4. Contract and Agreement Management: Oversee financial agreements and contracts with third parties, ensuring proper management, documentation, and compliance with financial policies.
5. Financial Operations and Support: Ensure effective financial operations, including accurate bank reconciliations, oversight of income/expenditure from lettings, and management of charitable entities related to the school.
6. Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with external auditors, banks, and the Trust's Central Finance Team to ensure compliance, address any financial issues, and provide necessary documentation for audits.
7. Monitoring and Improvement of Systems: Continuously assess and enhance financial systems and processes to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and compliance, including VAT coding and monthly management accounts preparation.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Knowledge of budget management including planning, review, development and oversight.
2. Computer literacy and numerical skill.
3. Experience of working in a finance role within a school is desirable.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
6. DBS on Updated Service.
